It’s time to bring out the umbrellas and coats again.
A major storm is still on track to affect Southwest California tonight through Tuesday, with the heaviest rain likely on Monday afternoon through Tuesday.
Impacts include flooding, mud and debris flows in and around recent burn areas. Strong gusts of 50 to 70 mph are possible.
Drive with plenty of caution, and give yourself enough time and space.

1. Live updates: Rainy morning commute ahead
A flood watch will be in effect from late Monday through Tuesday evening for the Los Angeles County coast, mountains, downtown Los Angeles, the San Fernando, Santa Clarita, San Gabriel and Antelope valleys and inland areas including Hollywood, Compton, Long Beach, Pomona, Downey, Norwalk, East Los Angeles, Culver City, Lakewood and Beverly Hills.
It is also in effect in Orange County’s coastal areas, inland areas including Santa Ana, Anaheim, Garden Grove, Irvine, Orange, Fullerton and Mission Viejo, and the Santa Ana Mountains and foothills.

2. Tentative sentencing set for Harvey Weinstein after sexual assault conviction
Sentencing is tentatively scheduled Monday for former film producer Harvey Weinstein, who was found guilty in December of sexually assaulting a woman in the Los Angeles area, but acquitted of charges related to a second alleged victim.
He was convicted Dec. 19, 2022 of three of the seven counts he was facing — forcible rape, forcible oral copulation and sexual penetration by a foreign object. All three of those counts related to a woman identified as Jane Doe #1, with the crimes occurring on or about Feb. 18, 2013.
The eight-man, four-woman jury, which deliberated for 41 hours, deadlocked on charges related to two other women and on whether there were aggravating factors that would have lengthened his maximum potential prison sentence.
Weinstein, 70, who was extradited from New York to stand trial in Los Angeles, faces up to 18 years in prison.
3. Commemoration of Nixon’s birth to be held Monday at presidential library
A ceremony marking the 110th anniversary of the birth of Richard M. Nixon will be held Monday at the Richard M. Nixon Presidential Library and Museum.
The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. with the laying of a wreath sent by President Joe Biden at the memorials of the 37th president and his wife Pat.
It will also include remarks by U.S. Navy Capt. Jessica O’Brien, commanding officer at Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach, formal presentation of the colors and national anthem and patriotic musical performances by Navy Band Southwest.
Admission will be free at the library on Monday. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
4. Got socks? LASAN launches 2-month clothing drive to reduce waste
Most Americans have closets packed with clothes, some of which they’ve never worn. That’s about $300 worth of brand-new pants, T-shirts and dresses, according to a 2022 study from Stitchfix, which also found that 80% of people routinely wear the same clothing items again and again.
Anyone looking for a good excuse to declutter their closets and repurpose their castoffs has an opportunity through the annual LASAN clothing drive.
Starting Monday and running through March 3, the city’s Environment and Sanitation Department will accept donations of new and gently used clothing for men, women and children.
This winter’s clothing drive will benefit the St. Francis Center to provide support to homeless and extremely low-income Angelenos, as well as LASAN’s Livability Services Division, which provides mobile hygiene units, clothing and a tent exchange to the homeless community.

Oscar winner Alejandro González Iñárritu on his most personal film yet
Known for award-winning movies such "Amores Perros,” "Babel,” "Birdman” and "The Revenant," five-time Oscar-winning director Alejandro González Iñárritu opens up to "LA Stories" host Giselle Fernandez about his latest film, "Bardo, False Chronicles of a Handful of Truths.”
Iñárritu says he identifies closely with the story, which uses surrealism and humor to explore stories of his own life.
Just as the main character grapples with his insecurities and identity, so too has Iñárritu, who once used his Oscar acceptance speech to shine a light on Mexican immigrants living in the U.S.
